"That fight is completely behind us already. It will be talked about and rehashed a thousand times over the next two months, I know this, but what happened that night won't have any bearing on this fight other than the fact that both guys may feel the need to put a little extra into things. But by the same token, even if that didn't happen last time, both guys should be ready and will be ready to put everything into this fight and every fight. If you put 100 percent into your training and mental preparation, then you shouldn't be able to say you did the exact thing you did the first time," stated Chad Dawson's world-class trainer John Scully, who talked about the announcement of the upcoming rematch with Bernard Hopkins. Check it out!

JA: How is everything going with yourself, John?

JS: All is good my man. We have the Golden Gloves going on right now so everyone at the Lions Den Training Center in Middletown, Connecticut is very busy right now getting ready for the semifinals this Saturday.

JA: It looks like Dawson and Hopkins will be getting it on again on April 28th, but this time it will be in New Jersey. Have you talked to Chad, and if so, what are some of his early reactions to the fight?

JS: We haven't talked to him in detail yet. I just found out yesterday, but from what I hear from him, he is very, very excited and upbeat about the rematch.

JA: As a trainer, how do you mentally get Chad to fight after the last fight ended in such a bizarre way?

JS: That's no problem at all. That fight is completely behind us already. If you put 100 percent into your training and mental preparation, then you shouldn't be able to say you did the exact thing you did the first time. And I know we will.

JA: You expecting the sideshow heading into the rematch to calm down a bit or do you think it will amplify?

JS: Oh, I will expect it to amplify tremendously in the coming weeks, definitely. Hopkins likes to do that and I assume he feels he needs to do those things to gain some sort of mental edge, but with some fighters, Chad being one of them, it's kind of a waste of time to go through all the trouble because he finds it all kind of silly and pointless. No matter what type of mind games any fighter likes to play, the fact is that on fight night, each guy has to go out and perform the way he needs to so he can win the fight. The trash talking back and forth is good for hyping the fight and all, I know it is necessary, but I don't put much stock in what a guy says before any fight.

JA: Demetrius Andrade is an up-and-coming prospect who is from New England. What do you think of him so far as a pro?

JS: To tell you the truth, the only time I've seen him fight as a pro is his last outing with Grady Brewer and he looked pretty good in there against a tough opponent. I know he's young though, and I know he has talent. I've sparred with him before a couple of times. But he's still young and I don't really see any reason to rush him up to the champions just yet. He has plenty of time to really learn the pro game and to be sure he's ready if and when he gets to that elite level.

JA: There have been a few articles written on various websites stating they think boxing is on it's way out. What do you think?

JS: Tons and tons of people who don't even follow boxing that closely have heard of Mayweather and Pacman and really want to see them fight, so I think that fight is going to create a huge upsurge for the game. Any sport that can generate more than thirty million for each boxer in one fight is far from on its way out in my view.

JA: Thank for your time, John. I appreciate it.

JS: I appreciate it from you too. Thank you my man. I'll assume I'll be talking to you again before April 28th too and I look forward to it.
