"I felt as though I needed to win the round. I think the second round could of gone either way, so yeah. The only way I know to win the round is by stopping the guy...I just wanna continue to grow as a fighter. It makes me happy to see improvments in my game 'cause it means I'm getting that bit closer to reaching my full potential," stated welterweight mixed martial artist Paul Daley as he talked about his future plans after his recent win over Daniel Acacio at Impact FC 2.

PC: Congratulations on your win over Daniel Acacio at Impact FC 2.

PD: Thanks.

PC: How do you feel about your performance?

PD: Well, I guess it went okay. I'm happy in fights when I continue to show improvements and I think I did again in this fight, so that's all good, you know? Daniel is a tough dude.

PC: Going into the third and final round, how did you have it scored in your head? Did you feel as though you needed a stoppage?

PD: I felt as though I needed to win the round. I think the second round could of gone either way, so yeah. The only way I know to win the round is by stopping the guy. I wasnt gonna go out there and try to stall or make points.

PC: Did anything about Acacio surprise you during the course of the fight?

PD: Not really. I knew he was very tough. He's fought and beat alot of top guys and comes from a great gym, so he used to training and sparring with many of the top fighters in the world.

PC: You're known for knocking people unconscious with your punches, but I hear that was a nasty elbow you landed. Once the fight hit the ground, what did you see to set up the elbow?

PD: I have good elbows from top postition, but I've been letting too much media stuff get to me, saying keep it on the feet, don't go to the ground, etc. I think it affected my confidence when going to the mat. I am much better than I have displayed, especially from top position.

PC: Your last 2 fights, one took place in Canada against Koscheck and now Australia. Is it difficult for you, as far as weight cutting, getting your team out to travel like that to a fight?

PD: No, I only really need one good cornerman with me; no need for an entourage with me. I have been doing much better with my weight now, dieting earlier out and training much closer to my fight weight, so it's not so hard on the body to make the weight.

PC: What was it like fighting in Australia?

PD: It was great. I had a lot of support out there. A lot!

PC: What was the treatment like from Impact FC?

PD: I was impressed. They put it together really well, a lot of great fights, and the production back stage was on point. We all new when and where we had to be. I thought they did well for the second outting.

PC: There were rumors of Bellator, and I'm sure you have been in contact with other organizations. Is that a decision you're just going to take your time with and continue fighting in orgs like Impact FC in the meantime?

PD: Yes, pretty much. I just wanna continue to grow as a fighter. It makes me happy to see improvments in my game 'cause it means I'm getting that bit closer to reaching my full potential.

PC: Congrats again Semtex. I always appreciate your time my man. Give me some closing thoughts?
